NVSI is a finalist in the 2011 Pace Zenith Awards
NVSI is a finalist in the 2008 Pace Zenith Awards
|
-
NVSI Project: Solar Cell Vision Processing is a finalist in the
2008 Pace Zenith Awards, in the Category: Transport,
Power and Infrastructure.
Most people acknowledge that solar power is clean, green and energy efficient however this becomes a reality only if the manufacturing process
of the cells also exhibits such traits. A major breakthrough by a NSW-based company, NVSI, has reduced waste and improved energy efficiency in
the manufacture of solar cells.

Accsense Inc whose headquarters are in Santa
Barbara, Calif., USA. Accsense is the leading provider of wireless sensor solutions that are quick to deploy and easy to use.
Accsense delivers affordable remote monitoring and data acquisition/logging sensor networks to customers including manufacturing
plants, factories, labs, hospitals and greenhouses The Accsense product line features wireless sensor Pods that measure ambient
temperature, humidity, light, noise and vibration. Accsense sensor Pods are compatible with a range of standard external plug-in
sensors and probes, including thermocouples, RTDs and thermistors. Their industry-standard 4-20ma, 0-5V, digital (contact closure)
and pulse counter inputs can also connect to sensors that measure flow, pH, electrical current, pressure, acceleration, gas
concentration, tank levels, proximity, wind speed, soil moisture almost anything that can be measured. A single Pod can simultaneously
measure up to nine different properties.

NVSI has a new Staff Member who is a National Instruments Certified Architect
|
- Mikael Holmstrom
(Senior Technical Specialist) has joined NVSI from Endevo in Sweden. He was one of
the first Certified LabVIEW Architects outside of the USA.
- As a National Instruments Certified
LabVIEW Architect (CLA), Mikael's certification is the
highest available to engineers working with LabVIEW, and represents
comprehensive and detailed knowledge of large application development
with LabVIEW. CLAs are required to demonstrate extensive
understanding of object oriented techniques, source code control,
project management techniques, as well as several other high-level
concepts in both theoretical and practical scenarios.
We are very proud to have trained all of the Certified LabVIEW Architects in
the Southern Hemisphere, allowing us to provide our
clients and partners with the most professional project architecture
and development available in the Oceanic region.
Mikael is one of the main designers for GOOP® (Graphical Object Orientated Programming).
As a partner company NVSI is certified to promote and support GOOP®
and companies using GOOP® in the Oceanic region. GOOP® is an advanced
technique used by LabVIEW developers to create modular code
for large projects, and systems that would benefit from object
oriented design.
- NVSI has an aggressive staff training
programme, and Mikael is key to assisting all staff in gaining qualifications relevant to
their career path.

Another NVSI Staff Member to become a National Instruments Certified Developer
|
- Matthew Rees
(Technical Specialist) has passed accreditation with a near perfect result to
become our newest National Instruments Certified LabVIEW
Developer (CLD).
- Earning a National
Instruments certification acknowledges our staff's expertise in
working with NI products and technologies. The measurement and
automation industry, and NVSI in particular, recognise the National
Instruments Certified Developer credential as a testament to the skills and
knowledge of our staff.

Another NVSI Staff Member to become NI Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer
|
- Anthony Higgins
(Senior Technical Specialist) passed accreditation with ease to
become our newest National Instruments Certified LabVIEW
Associate Developer (CLAD).
|
More NVSI Staff Members become NI Certified LabVIEW Associate Developers
|
- Matthew Rees
(Technical Specialist), Alex Gouliaev (Sales
Manager) and Ralph Dick (Managing Director) passed accreditation with flying colours to
become National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Associate Developers (CLAD).
- NVSI has an aggressive staff training
programme, assisting all staff in gaining qualifications relevant to
their career path.

Advanced
Programming: Object Orientated Programming with LabVIEW
|
NVSI has joined Endevo
(Sweden) and VI
Engineering (USA) to become the newest GOOP® (Graphical Object Orientated Programming)
partner company, and is certified to promote and support GOOP®
and companies using GOOP® in the Oceanic region. GOOP® is an advanced
technique used by several LabVIEW developers to create modular code
for large projects, and systems that would benefit from object
orientated design.
If you'd like to explore how to
assimilate object orientated programming into your LabVIEW
architecture or next project, NVSI is offering limited places in upcoming LabVIEW Systems Design with GOOP®
courses: a
two day, hands-on, training course for advanced LabVIEW users.
Students will learn object orient programming techniques for
creating powerful code that's easier to de-bug and maintain. The
course provides instruction in GOOP® methodology along with an
evaluation copy of Endevo's GOOP® Inheritance toolkit. Christopher
Relf (National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Architect - Author of "Image Acquisition and Processing with LabVIEW") is the
only system-integrator certified GOOP® trainer outside of the USA and Sweden.
No knowledge of object orientation (OO) is needed to attend the two
day course, although it is designed for competent LabVIEW
developers. The course covers the following topics:
- Object oriented system development. Iterative and incremental
development.
- OO analysis, design and implementation.
- Actors and Use-cases.
- Classes, objects, methods and attributes.
- Relationships between classes. Association, aggregation and
inheritance.
- UML notation for the concepts covered.
- Using the GOOP® Wizard (exercise).
- Using the inspector to debug classes (exercise).
- How does GOOP® work? We look at the GOOP® repository.
- OO programming with GOOP® (exercises).
If you're interested in attending
an upcoming GOOP® course in your area, would like more information, or
are interested in NVSI presenting a course near you, please contact
NVSI.
